As you know, devastating budget cuts have left most schools without the resources students need to succeed.

As you know, school book fairs donate a portion of sales to the school, but they typically run for just a week, and many schools do not have any book fairs, at all. Further, they do not let shoppers support a specific teacher.

The overwhelming majority of children’s books sold--another $3 billion of sales—are through channels that do not donate (one large online bookstore donates a meager 0.5%). Imagine the impact if some of that $3 billion went to provide resources for students.

ClassWish-Books.org, an online children’s bookstore, offers the only way that parents and grandparents of all 56 million schoolchildren (and all shoppers) can fund student resources for their own child’s (or any child's) school or teacher every time they purchase a book for a child or teen, all year around.  

Here are two big benefits:

The donations are credited to wish list accounts at ClassWish.org, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit site. Those educators then choose whatever resources they need, and ClassWish has the items sent right to them at no cost. By the way, ClassWish.org is the only nonprofit that lets anyone make a tax-deductible contribution to fund any type of resource for any school, administrator, teacher, or PTA in the country. Capturing a share of that funding is yet another great reason for all teachers to create a wish list there.

Oh, yes, two more things: 

1. Shoppers can direct two-thirds of the donation that their purchase earns (that is, 5% of the net purchase amount) towards the tuition and fees of a specific student. Here are the details on that tuition donation program.
